DJ Mouse And MC Wilko
DJ Mouse and MC Wilko were established as a DJ and MC duo in 1999. Their careers began as a joke as they could only manage to produce lame lyrics and terrible tunes. However, the turning point of their careers was the creation of the song "You Don't Need To Be Big To Be A Hero!" This song had a touch of finesse and no longer contained humorous phrases. In 2001, they started making original and imaginative lyrics and melodies and instant stardom beckoned.

How we make great songs
Now, we're not likely to give away all our secrets but here is how the best DJ team in England make their hit tracks. Here are five pointers to try and help you get started. Good Luck!
1. Get a decent name for yourself. DJ Mouse and MC Wilko.....we have it sorted.
2. Make one fantastic debut hit. You Don't Need To Be Big To Be A Hero.....need I say more?
3. Put your heart and soul into your music. You just have to look at A La La Mouse to understand this.
4. Write music that is relevant. For example, Kill or be Killed is set to provide the theme tune to the new James Bond film. Some songs are supposed to be upbeat and therefore they are pop-punky.
5. Be a great team. This one speaks for itself, Wilko and Mouse make the perfect team. Also, they have the magnificent skills of Thom to call on if they need backing.

It takes time but keep at it, novice DJs and MCs. At the start of their careers not even Mouse and Wilko were the unstoppable chart legends that they are now. We'll always be prepared to pass on advice if you need it and remember...You Don't Need To Be Big To Be A Hero!
